Bear Mountain Hento
ILR#:

Birthdate:
51.50"
Height:
420 lbs
Weight:
Hi Trl 6-3-0
Sire:
Gertie's Ruby
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$1,250
Hento is a giant of a llama, with great conformation which he passes along to his offspring. At over 51.50" tall, he is tied for the second tallest stud in North America. With long legs and a high-cut flank, he glides over deadfall on the trail. Hento is the Lakota word for "blue," as he has two blue eyes. His blue eyes don't give him any problems though, as he's always alert and will give kisses on command. The majority of his offspring do not inherit his blue eyes. In each of his first two breeding seasons, he produced the best cria in the class.

Bear Mountain Davy Crockett
ILR#:

Birthdate:
49.75"
Height:
376 lbs
Weight:
Bear Mountain Stetson
Sire:
Bear Mountain Annie
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$1,250
Davy is an elite, well built, extremely intelligent, large stud with unique bloodlines who can breed to almost all of our females with minimal genetic crossover. His sire is the tallest llama in the North American Ccara registry, and he pulls in Woodsend Super Stretch on his dam's side as well. He's an aggressive breeder, and we're looking forward to seeing his offspring. He had limited trail experience prior to joining RCTL, but proved a quick learner his first season on the trail, eventually packing bone-in elk hindquarters over 9 miles on the last day of the season. His offspring tend to display the same calm demeanor as him.

Birthdate:
49.0" at 22 months, still growing
Height:
Still growing
Weight:
Bear Mountain Hento
Sire:
Renee's Valentine
Dam:
Stud Fee:
Garbanzo is an extremely tall, well built, and easy to handle llama. On his first backcountry trip he did 6 miles each way and rarely skipped a beat at multiple points in the string. He's expected to finish at over 50" tall and is a near spitting image of his sire. He is a hair taller than his 51.50" sire was at the same age.

Broken Arrow's Spotted Elk
ILR#:
294741
May 2, 2020
Birthdate:
48.75"
Height:
335 lbs
Weight:
Hi Trl Daniel Jackson
Sire:
Blue Eyes Dancer
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$1,250
Spotted Elk is an elite llama in every way. He has flawless conformation which he passes along to his offspring. He is lean, but muscular, with a flat top line and a shoulder that sits higher than his rump. He is calm, and can often be caught without cornering him. In 2025, 20 miles from the trailhead, he unbuckled his halter at night trying to keep the mosquitoes at bay. I was able to walk up to him and catch him and put his halter back on with little fanfare. He breeds true, with dominant homozygous genes that show up in straight front legs, level backs, and muscular hind ends in his crias.

LEL Scooter
ILR#:
293316
May 14, 2019
Birthdate:
47.75"
Height:
293 lbs
Weight:
LEL Thunder Eagle
Sire:
Princess Layla
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$750
Scooter is the strongest llama in the RCTL herd. His chest muscle is extremely evident, and he has very heavy bone. He is short coupled, and sits over an inch taller at the shoulder than he does at the hip. He has straight front legs, and good angle to his hindquarters. He's a little bit difficult to catch, but once on a lead, he knows it's time to work and excels on the trail. He is a quick learner. He has a little bit heavier wool than I like, but it is a classic double coat. He's an excellent option to pair with long-backed females or animals with lighter bone structure.

WRTL Wade
ILR#:
291185
April 4, 2017
Birthdate:
47.75"
Height:
374 lbs
Weight:
Bear Mountain Mavrick
Sire:
LEL Jessie Irene
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$750
Wade is an absolute beast on the trail. He has a never quit mentality, and neither distance nor weight will slow him down. Despite not being the biggest llama in the herd, will carry the heaviest load without complaint. He can be a bit of a handful at times, as his engine never slows down. But when you need elite performance he always comes through. His offspring have all ended up very tall and athletic, but with low birthweights (all under 30 lbs), making him an excellent choice for first time mothers.

Bronco Scutero
ILR#:
284747
May 31, 2012
Birthdate:
46.75"
Height:
343 lbs
Weight:
Hi Trl Commander Spock
Sire:
Hi Trl Kathryn Janeway
Dam:
Stud Fee:
$750
Bronco is a son of the great Commander Spock and his dam is a giant girl at over 49". He spent many years as a commercial packer before joining our herd. He's athletic and easy to handle. We're excited to get him on the trail to let him teach some of the younger boys. As a direct descendant of Spock without many of the other prominent lines, he provides a lot of breeding options to pass on his DNA. Bronco has extremely heavy bone and muscling and we're excited to see his future offspring. His first offspring, Trogdor, has all the signs of becoming one of the tallest llamas in North America.

WRTL Yuke
ILR#:
294697
May 20, 2018
Birthdate:
46.5"
Height:
318 lbs
Weight:
Bear Mountain Oliver Twist
Sire:
Dream Girl's McKinley
Dam:
Stud Fee:
Yuke, aka Cookie, is one of my smallest packers, tipping the scales at just over 300 lbs, but he outshines everyone on the trail with his work ethic and demeanor. He's the kind of packer who will never wow you, but you'll look back at the end of a trip and realized he did everything you asked him to do and never gave you any trouble. He has helped pack out multiple elk in his career, and never complained once. He navigates obstacles with ease, and does well anywhere in a pack string, but excels in the middle.
While he has produced nice offspring, his conception rates have unfortunately been lower than I would like. He is therefore only available for outside service on a very limited basis, and any females must be brought here for him to breed.

Otis #FatBearWeek
ILR#:
300069
November 13, 2024
Birthdate:
45.75" at 16 months, still growing
Height:
Still growing
Weight:
WRTL Hans Solo (pending DNA confirmation)
Sire:
Bear Mountain Denali
Dam:
Stud Fee:
Otis is an exceptionally well conformed llama with straight front legs, balanced proportions, and the short wool that runs consistently throughout the bloodlines of his dam. He's a true representation of the classic ccara llama. He's also an outcross to most llamas in North America. We're excited to see his offspring and he'll begin breeding in 2027.
