Hi Trl Commander Spock
Sire:
Hi Trl Kathryn Janeway
Dam:
Bronco is a son of the great Commander Spock and his dam is a true giant at over 49". He spent many years as a commercial packer before joining our herd. He's athletic and easy to handle. We're excited to get him on the trail to let him teach some of the younger boys. As a direct descendant of Spock without many of the other prominent lines, he provides a lot of breeding options to pass on his DNA.

Height:

Bear Mountain Mavrick

LEL Jessie Irene
Dam:
Wade is an absolute beast on the trail. He has a never quit mentality, and will keep other llamas in line. When a llama in training tried to lay down on the trail, Wade made it clear to him in no uncertain terms that laying down on the job was not acceptable. Wade is the strongest llama in the herd, and despite not being the biggest, will carry the heaviest load without complaint. Even carrying two bone-in hindquarters from a bull elk, he'll still try to beat you up the mountain. Once, after letting him breed, I drove him the 20 miles back to the boys' pasture. I let him out and he immediately jumped the fence and started sprinting back toward the girls. Thankfully he got a little lost, but he sprinted nonstop for about 20 miles over the next two hours until we finally got him back to the farm, where he jumped the fence right back into his pasture.

DOB:

Height:
293 lbs
Weight:
LEL Thunder Eagle
Sire:
Princess Layla
Dam:
Scooter is a new addition to our pack string, joining Rock Creek Trail Llamas after the 2022 packing season. He has some heavy hitters in his bloodlines, as his great-grandsires are Forest Green Tobias, Black Thunder, Sir Alberto and Commander Spock. He has a short back and strong muscling. 2022 was his first season on the trail, and early returns indicate that he is a quick learner with great packing potential. By the end of the 2023 season he was packing at an elite level on the trail.
Bear Mountain Hento

ILR#:
April 21, 2020
DOB:
51.0"
Height:
380 lbs
Weight:
Hi Trl 6-3-0
Sire:
Gertie's Ruby
Dam:
Hento is a giant of a llama, with great conformation. His sire (6-3-0) has produced several incredible progeny, and his grandsire (Sir Canad) is one of the greatest studs of all time. His dam is a granddaughter of Jordan's White Socks, another all-time great stud. At over 50" tall, with long legs and a high-cut flank, he glides over deadfall on the trail. Hento is the Lakota word for "blue," as he has two blue eyes. His blue eyes don't seem to give him any problems though, as he's always alert and will give kisses on command. His first crias are expected in 2024 out of Blanca, Valentine and Stormy.

ILR#:
May 20, 2018
DOB:
46.5"
Height:
318 lbs
Weight:
Bear Mountain Oliver Twist
Sire:
Dream Girl's McKinley
Dam:
Yuke, aka Cookie, is one of my smallest packers, tipping the scales at just over 300 lbs, but he outshines everyone on the trail with his work ethic and demeanor. He's the kind of packer who will never wow you, but you'll look back at the end of a trip and realized he did everything you asked him to do and never gave you any trouble. He helped pack out three bull elk in 2022, and never complained once. He navigates obstacles with ease, and does well anywhere in a pack string, but excels in the middle. With Commander Spock, Hannity, Black Thunder, Jordan's White Socks and Evaine's Dream Girl all within 3 generations back, he's got a who's who's pedigree. We're excited to see him pass on his genetics. He's an excellent option for first-time or smaller females who should not be bred to a larger (48" plus) stud.
Broken Arrow's Spotted Elk

ILR#:
May 2, 2020
DOB:
48.5"
Height:
Weight:
Hi Trl Daniel Jackson
Sire:
Blue Eyes Dancer
Dam:
Spotted Elk is the least experienced packer in the string, but he showed tremendous improvement over the 2023 packing season. Once he trusts you, he will let you walk up to him in the pasture and catch him and will do whatever you want. But until he establishes that trust, he wants nothing to do with you. His sire was a product of Commander Spock and BBR Belinda, a dam that has produced some phenomenal offspring. With Black Thunder and Hector Connection in his lineage, he's got some great bloodlines. He's a tall, lean, athletic llama that we're excited to breed as well as get on the trail. His first offspring are expected in spring 2024 out of Brooke and Roarie.

Dam:
GusGus was one of the first two llamas we got, and he gives it his all every time on the trail. He's a little chonky, pretty short, too wooly, highly anxious and not very bright, but he's helped pack out five bulls so far in his career. Thankfully what he lacks in athletic ability, he more than makes up for in charm. He's the most expressive llama I've ever been around, and his facial expressions are always good for a laugh. He's a great companion to have on the trail.
